Rashaad Jackson to be arraigned for hit-and-run that killed Terrell Walker in West Englewood

A 20-year-old Chicago man charged with the fatal hit-and-run crash in West Englewood that killed 46-year-old Terrell Walker will appear for arraignment July 2.

Walker was crossing the street in the 6500 block of South Laflin when he was struck by a black car traveling southbound about 9:30 p.m. June 2, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Walker, of the 6400 block of South Bishop, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 10:37 p.m., authorities said.

The car sped away after the crash, but was found parked and unoccupied a short time later in the 6500 block of South Laflin, according to police.

Rashaad H. Jackson was later identified as the driver of the black, 2002 Nissan Altima that fatally struck Walker, according to authorities.

Jackson was charged June 7 with one count each of reckless homicide and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, police said.

Jackson, of the 11600 block of South Racine, is being held on a $200,000 bond, court records show. He will be back in court for arraignment on July 2.
