Chicago Police have opened a homicide investigation after Lloyd A. White was found dead with blunt force head trauma in an Avondale basement Monday morning.
About 11 a.m., the 51-year-old White was found in the basement of a building in the 3900 block of North Spaulding, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. White lived on the same block.
He was dead at the scene, authorities said. An autopsy Tuesday found he died of multiple sharp and blunt-force injuries, and his death was ruled a homicide.
In a message posted on Facebook, Ald. Deb Mell (33rd) said the victim “appears to have known his assailant. This incident appears to be personal in nature, not a gang-related incident.”
