16-year-old Marcus Weathers killed, woman and teen injured in North Lawndale drive-by


Sixteen-year-old Marcus Weathers was killed, and two other people, including a 14-year-old girl, were wounded in a drive-by shooting late Tuesday in North Lawndale.

Weathers was standing on a front porch in the 1300 block of South Kostner with the girl and a 42-year-old woman about 11:40 p.m. when a white, four-door car drove by and someone inside fired shots at them, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Weathers, who lived on the same block, was shot in the back, and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died at 1 a.m., according to police and the medical examiner’s office.

The woman was shot in the right leg and the girl was shot in the back, police said. Both were taken to Stroger Hospital, where their conditions were stabilized.
