Jamaal Barney was shot to death in the North Lawndale neighborhood late Friday.
About 11:40 p.m., the 22-year-old Barney was standing on the sidewalk in the 1800 block of South Drake when a gold SUV drove past and someone inside opened fire, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Barney, of the 1600 block of South Central Park, was shot in the chest, abdomen and legs, police said.
He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:19 a.m. Saturday, authorities said.
