Carlos Romo found with fatal gunshot wound in van on block where he lived in Little Village


Carlos Romo was shot to death on the block where he lived in the Little Village neighborhood late Saturday.

Romo, 32, was found unresponsive in a parked van about 8:55 p.m. in the 2700 block of West 24th Street, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was shot in the chest, police said.

Romo, who lived on the same block, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:18 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said.
