Marvelle Arnold dies one day after being shot in the head in Homas Square

Marvelle Arnold was shot Sunday morning in the West Side Homan Square neighborhood and died the next day, authorities said.

Officers responding to a call of shots fired about 6:40 a.m. in the 3500 block of West Lexington found the 18-year-old unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head, according to Chicago Police.

Arnold was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:50 p.m. Monday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 2700 block of West 15th Place.

An autopsy ruled his death a homicide.
