16-year-old Lucas Spicer killed, two others wounded in Humboldt Park attack

Sixteen-year-old boy Lucas Spicer was killed and two men were wounded in a shooting Thursday evening in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.

At 7:12 p.m., the three were standing on a sidewalk in the 800 block of North St. Louis Avenue when a light-colored vehicle pulled up, and a gunman got out and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

Spicer was shot in the chest and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:51 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 1600 block of South Central Park Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An 18-year-old man, shot in the chest and neck, was also taken to Stroger in critical condition, police said. A 19-year-old man suffered a graze wound and was taken in good condition at Norwegian American Hospital.
