A man charged with the murder of 21-year-old nursing student Daysha Wright was ordered held without bond Friday.
Travion Lockett, 21, was arrested in Milwaukee on a murder warrant for the March 9 Near West Side slaying of Wright, who had a 2-year-old son, Cook County prosecutors said at a Friday bond hearing.
Wright was riding home with a friend from a memorial gathering around midnight when they spotted Lockett in the 2200 block of West Maypole, prosecutors said.

The driver, concerned that “there might be trouble,” drove back to the memorial to warn others that Lockett was in the neighborhood, prosecutors said.
As they again drove back from the memorial, Lockett stepped out from between two parked cars and opened fired on Wright and her friend, prosecutors said.
“The witness hears shots hitting the back of his car, and then he hears (Wright) choking and gargling on her blood,” Assistant State’s Attorney Brian Whang said.
Lockett, who lived on the block where the shooting happened, was identified by witnesses at the scene, Whang said. His next court date is May 5.
Wright was the second-oldest of seven children and lived in Englewood, her 16-year-old sister, Kenesha Allen, said at a vigil held at the scene of the slaying inthe days after the shooting.
Wright had a 2-year-old son, Daeshawn, whose father had been killed in a traffic crash when he was traveling to see his newborn son for the first time, according to a family member.
Family members said they did not believe she was the intended target of the shooting.
