William Palmer fatally shot while sitting in car near his home in West Englewood

William Palmer was shot and killed early Saturday near his home in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The 32-year-old Palmer was sitting in a vehicle near his home in the 6300 block of South Honore about 5:20 a.m. when a gunman walked up and shot him in the head, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:58 a.m., police said.
