Eighteen-year-old Chureno Gatewood, a northwest Indiana resident, was killed in an Englewood neighborhood shooting Sunday morning.
Officers responded at 11:25 a.m. to a shooting in the 5700 block of South Union and found Gatewood with a gunshot wound to the upper chest, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:45 a.m., authorities said. He lived in the 300 block of Madison Street in Gary, Indiana.
Police did not have further details on the shooting.
