Byron Walker killed in drive-by shooting in Englewood

A man killed in a drive-by shooting near his home in the Englewood neighborhood Thursday afternoon has been identified as Byron C. Walker.

At 2:36 p.m., the 28-year-old Walker was walking outside in the 1100 block of West 57th Street when a vehicle drove by and someone inside opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

Walker, who lived around the corner in the 5700 block of South Aberdeen, was shot in the head, and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
