Officers find 18-year-old Latwon Rogers with fatal gunshot wounds in Marquette Park alley

Police responding to a call found 18-year-old man Latwon A. Rogers suffering multiple gunshot wounds in an alley in the Southwest Side Marquette Park neighborhood Sunday evening.

Officers were checking on a call of a person shot in the 2500 block of West 68th Street at 6:09 p.m. when they found Rogers at the mouth of an alley, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He had apparently suffered a gunshot wound to the head and multiple gunshot wounds to the body, authorities said.

Rogers, of the 5800 block of South Campbell Avenue, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 6:47 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
