Harry Cannon Jr. shot to death while parking his vehicle in Humboldt Park

Harry “Orlando” Cannon Jr. was shot Monday afternoon while parking his vehicle in the West Side Humboldt Park neighborhood, and died about four hours later.

The 22-year-old was parking his vehicle in the 900 block of North Kedvale at 1:43 p.m. when another vehicle pulled alongside and a passenger fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Cannon was hit, but his vehicle kept moving until it struck another parked vehicle, police said. The vehicle with the shooter inside took off north on Kedvale.

Cannon, who lived in the 3600 block of West Lexington, was shot in the head and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:36 p.m., authorities said.
