Bartiomiej Barczyk stabbed to death duing argument with another man in Jefferson Park

Bartiomiej R. Barczyk was stabbed to death Saturday night during an argument with a man in a Jefferson Park building on the Northwest Side.

The 40-year-old Barczyk was stabbed in the chest inside a building in the 5500 block of West Higgins by another man during an argument at 11:37 p.m., according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Barczyk, of the 1600 block of West Greenleaf, was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was pronounced dead at 12:44 a.m. Sunday, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Police said the stabbing was domestic-related and a suspect was taken into custody. However, police said Monday afternoon that person had been released without being charged with a crime.
