Travis Joseph dies 10 hours after being shot on porch on block where he lived in Englewood

Travis Joseph died early Saturday, about 10 hours after he was shot in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Joseph, 31, was on a porch at 6:23 p.m. Friday in the 1400 block of West 71st Street when a male suspect walked up, pulled out a weapon and opened fire, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Joseph was shot in the chest and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 4:11 a.m. Saturday, authorities said. He lived in the same neighborhood as the shooting.
