Fredrick Stewart shot to death on the street in South Shore

Fredrick Stewart was fatally shot Saturday evening while walking in the South Shore neighborhood.

Just after 6:30 p.m., a male walked up to the 26-year-old Stewart in the 2800 block of East 76th Street and fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Stewart was hit in the left eye and lower back before the assailant before the assailant ran away.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:13 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office. Stewart’s home address was unknown.
