Two gunman fatally shoot 32-year-old Dario Balderrama just blocks from his home in Back of the Yards

Dario Balderrama was killed Saturday evening in a Back of the Yards neighborhood shooting on the South Side.

The 32-year-old Balderrama had just parked his car and was crossing the street in the 4800 block of South Racine at 6:24 p.m., according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

A dark vehicle approached and two people got out and fired shots, according to police.

Balderrama, who lived just blocks away in the same neighborhood as the shooting, was struck multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

The shooters got back in the vehicle and took off heading north, police said.
