Man found dead in car in Gresham identified as 28-year-old Jaruad Ford, who lived just a block away

A man shot to death Tuesday night in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side has been identified as Jaruad Ford, who lived just a block away from where he was killed.

Officers responded to a call of a person shot at 6:22 p.m. in the 8900 block of South Morgan and found the 28-year-old Ford in the driver’s seat of a Chevrolet car, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He had suffered from gunshot wounds to the head and torso, and was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:48 p.m., authorities said.

An autopsy showed he died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Ford lived just a block from where he was shot.
