17-year-old Cercy Robinson shot to death while walking through empty lot four blocks from West Garfield Park home

Seventeen-year-old Cercy Robinson was walking through a vacant lot about four blocks from his West Garfield Park neighborhood home Friday evening when gunshots were fired.

The teen was struck in the chest just after 6 p.m. in the 4500 block of West Jackson, according to Chicago Police and the COok County medial examiner’s office.

Robinson was was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died at 7:44 p.m., authorities said.

An autopsy showed he died of complications from a gunshot wound to the chest, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The teen, known to friends as “Serg Glo,” lived about four blocks away from where he was shot.
