Rashaad Crawford shot to death with sitting in vehicle in South Shore

Rashaad H. Crawford was killed in a shooting Sunday morning in the South Shore neighborhood.

Two male suspects approached and shot the 23-year-old while he was sitting in a parked vehicle at 3:17 a.m. in the 2100 block of East 71st Street, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Crawford was shot in the chest and left arm, and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where died at 4:02 a.m., authorities said.

He lived in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

Visitation will be Friday, July 21, from 4-8 p.m. at Heavenly Angels Funeral Home, 1811 W. 103rd St.; and funeral services will be Saturday, at 11 a.m. at Greater 1st Baptist CHurch at 751 N. Parkside. Interment will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
