Jose Rico was found shot dead early Sunday in the North Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
Officers responded at 12:18 a.m. to a call of shots fired and found the 22-year-old lying face down on the sidewalk in the 5000 block of North Bernard, just a block away from Von Steuben High School, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Rico, of the Northwest Side Albany Park neighborhood, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body, and was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:43 a.m., authorities said.
No one was in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
