31-year-old Anthony Henry shot to death on Englewood street


Anthony D. Henry was fatally shot Tuesday night while standing outside in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Henry, 31, was standing with a group of people about 10 p.m. in the 7000 block of South Carpenter, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Someone walked up and began shooting, according to police.

Henry, who lived just over a mile away in the same neighborhood, was struck in the back and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Area South detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
