Andres Pina shot to death while waiting in vehicle outside friend’s home in Archer Heights

Andres Pina of southwest suburban Palos Hills was shot to death early Thursday in the Archer Heights neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The 24-year-old Pina was sitting inside a vehicle at 3:47 a.m., picking up a friend in the 4900 block of South Komensky, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The friend told investigators that he heard shots from outside and went out to find his friend unresponsive inside the vehicle.

Pina, who lived in Palos Hills, had been shot in the neck, and pronounced dead at the scene at 3:54 a.m., authorities said.
