Marvin Carr, aka Chicago rapper Capo and a member of Chief Keef’s “Glo Gang,” was killed in a South Shore neighborhood shooting that also resulted in a 1-year-old boy being fatally struck by a vehicle fleeing the gang-related attack Saturday.

The 22-year-old was shot in the hip and back in a possible drive-by about 1:45 p.m. in the 7700 block of South Kingston, police said.
He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he later died, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office hadn’t confirmed the death as of Sunday morning.
Carr, who went by the name Capo, was the man killed in the attack, according to manager Renaldo Hess. A police source confirmed the identity of the victim.

Little Dillan Harris, being pushed in a stroller by his mother, died Saturday afternoon when he was run down by a vehicle fleeing a deadly gang shooting in Woodlawn.

Dillan had celebrated his first birthday May 21.
“I tried to save my baby,” his mother said later as she gathered with grieving relatives on the South Side.
She said she’d been standing, waiting at a bus stop at 63rd and Ellis a little before 2 p.m. Saturday with her three kids—Dillan and his two older sisters. On a warm day, they were headed for a family outing at 63rd Street Beach.
That’s when a westbound car, which Chicago Police said was fleeing a shooting in the 7700 block of South Kingston that claimed the life of a 22-year-old man, raced up.

Tarvares Herron was shot to death early Saturday in a vehicle stopped at a red light in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the city’s South Side, police said.

It happened around 2:15 a.m. when the 23-year-old Herron was in an
SUV stopped at a red light in the 6900 block of South Lafayette.
He began talking with two females who were inside a black car that was also stopped at the light, according to the police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Some were barely tall enough to peer inside the white casket.
Others wore green T-shirts paying homage to Amari Brown’s crime fighting, pizza-loving heroes.
A few even went a step further and wore Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles costumes to honor the 7-year-old boy who was gunned down on the 4th of July.
“I hope we all learn from this,” Amari’s principal at the Leif Ericson Elementary School told the crowd of 600 at Amari’s funeral Saturday afternoon.

A South Side man has been charged with the 2014 fatal shooting of Richard Johnson of Riverdale man in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood.

Joshua J. Ford, 25, was charged with one count of first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of the 34-year-old on Sept. 21, 2014, in the 7700 block of South Stewart, Chicago Police announced Saturday.
Johnson was a passenger in a vehicle going eastbound on Stewart when he was shot in the head by someone on the streer about 3 a.m., police said at the time. He was taken to Saint Bernard Hospital and later transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died a day later.

When Naomi Freeman tried to run over her abusive boyfriend John Perry with her white minivan the first time, she missed, prosecutors allege.

So Perry, standing on the sidewalk, taunted her to try again.
Freeman, 23, took him up on the challenge, hitting the gas pedal and striking Perry as she drove onto the sidewalk, through a fence and into a yard in a West Side neighborhood, authorities said.
Her attorney, Steven Pick, said Freeman, charged with murder, had no choice after Perry punched her more than 25 times, dragging her out of her van by her hair.

Northwest Indiana resident Jovan Dovantae Hopkins was shot to death in the Back of the Yards neighborhood Thursday night on the South Side.
About 8:45 p.m., the 22-year-old was walking in the 5200 block of South Emerald when someone walked out of a nearby gangway and opened fire, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The shooter then jumped in a vehicle, which sped away, police said.
Hopkins was shot in the upper body and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died at 9:33 p.m., authorities said.

17-year-old Kimythe Hubbard was shot to death Thursday night in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.
Hubbard was walking in the 6600 block of South Blackstone just after 10 p.m. when a gunman walked up and shot him repeatedly, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Hubbard, of the 2900 block of South King Drive, was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:24 p.m.

A South Side man was arrested Wednesday, accused of gunning Eddie Jones down a man last summer over a debt.

Glen Phillips shot Jones while Jones talked with two other people in the 6500 block of South Sangamon Street, Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney Jennifer Cooper said in court Thursday.
Jones, who had been driving with his girlfriend and a friend, had stopped his car when he heard his name being called out on the evening of June 25, 2014.
When Jones, 54, stepped outside his car to talk to the two people, Phillips emerged from the rear of vehicle and confronted Jones about money he owed, Cooper said.
