A 19-year-old man was shot dead Sunday night in the South Side Chatham neighborhood, police said.
The man, Marcus Turner, was shot multiple times in the chest after two people approached him in the 8400 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive about 7 p.m., authorities said.
Police said Turner, of the 6600 block of Maryland Avenue, was dead at the scene. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said Turner was formally pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn at 8 p.m.
No one is in custody and Area South detectives are investigating.
