1 dead, 2 wounded in South Chicago drive-by shooting

A man is dead and two others were wounded during a drive-by shooting Saturday in the South Chicago neighborhood. The drive-by shooting occurred at 4:30 p.m. in the 8600 block of South Kingston Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien said. 

Carl Austin, 21, of the 8600 block of S. Kingston, was dead at the scene, authorities said.
 
A 29-year-old man was shot in the chest and a 26-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the wrist, O’Brien said.

They were taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to Fire Media Affairs. 

The victims had gang affiliations, police said. Area South detectives are investigating.
