Bond was denied Saturday for a Southwest Side man accused of shooting and killing 24-year-old Jerald Strong last month in North Lawndale.

Leevert Anderson, 28, faces first-degree murder charges for the Nov. 3 attack in the 3200 block of West 15th Street, according to Chicago Police.

Anderson got into an argument with Strong about 1 p.m. that day, pulled a gun, and shot Strong in the head and neck, authorities said at the time.

Strong was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died within the hour, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 1300 block of South Christiana.

Anderson, of the 1500 block of South Sawyer, was ordered held without bond, according to Cook County Circuit Court records. He is due back in court Dec. 17.
