At least six people were fatally shot in Chicago last week, and a woman died more than eight years after being severely beaten by her boyfriend, who is serving a prison sentence for the attack.

A 32-year-old man was fatally shot early Sunday in the North Lawndale neighborhood. Officers responding to a call of person shot about 1:25 a.m. found Fredrick Lee Blount lying in the street near the corner of West 13th Street and South Central Park Avenue.

The victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Family members said Blount has a 1-year-old daughter, 12-year-old son and three sisters.

Two men were killed and a third wounded when a man who was not allowed inside a party came back and started shooting late Friday in Englewood.

The male suspect wasn’t allowed into the party, which was going on in a garage in the 7400 block of South Eggleston, police said. He came back about 11:20 p.m. and shot three men.

Pierre Payne, 32, was shot in the chest and died at the scene, police and the medical examiner’s office said. He lived in the 1900 block of East 71st Street.

Andrew H. Haynes, 34, was shot several times in the torso and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:11 a.m., authorities said. He lived in the 0-100 block of West 13th Street.

A 45-year-old man was shot in the left hip, and was also taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition had stabilized.

A man was shot to death early Friday in Chicago Lawn. About 12:10 a.m., Raymond Pryor IV, 25, was found unresponsive on the sidewalk in the 6400 block of South Western Avenue with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, according to police and the medical examiner’s office.

Pryor, who lived one block north, was pronounced dead 20 minutes later.

A 19-year-old man died early Wednesday, two days after being shot while driving in Chicago Lawn. Davion Spivey was driving in the 6000 block of South California Avenue at 7:35 p.m. Monday when someone standing on the sidewalk fired shots through the back window before running away, police and the medical examiner’s office said.

Spivey was shot in the head and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died 2:47 a.m. Wednesday, authorities said. He lived in the 7300 block of South Artesian.

Arturo Pina was fatally shot Monday night in the Little Village neighborhood. The 37-year-old was walking in the 2800 block of South Kedvale Avenue at 7:36 p.m. when someone walked up to him from a gangway and fired shots, according to police and the medical examiner’s office.

Pina was shot in the face and back, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:13 p.m., authorities said. He lived less than half a mile away in the 2700 block of South Komensky.

A 58-year-old woman died Monday, more than eight years after being assaulted by her boyfriend in a South Shore attack that left her a quadriplegic. Rhonda Stevenson died at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to the medical examiner’s office. An autopsy found she died of complications of quadriplegia and remote cervical spinal injuries from the assault. Her death was ruled a homicide.

Stevenson was assaulted by her boyfriend, Leshard Jackson, on July 13, 2007, in the 2300 block of East 69th Street, according to police. Jackson, now 36, was convicted of attempted murder and is serving a 20-year sentence at Big Muddy Correctional Center in downstate Ina, according to police and Illinois Department of Corrections records. He will be eligible for parole in July 2024.
