Omar Kent had just parked his vehicle when he was shot to death early Sunday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood.
The 38-year-old Kent had just parked about 12:35 a.m. in the 3600 block of West Fifth Avenue when five males walked up, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. One of them pulled out a gun and opened fire.
Kent was shot in the head, and was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:50 a.m., according to police and the medical examiner’s office. He was a construction worker who lived in the 2300 block of South Kirkland.
