A man shot to death early Saturday in the West Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side has been identified as 31-year-old Louis Antonio Torres of south suburban Blue Island.
Torres was driving in the 6800 block of South Springfield just before 2 a.m. Saturday when someone outside the vehicle opened fire, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Torres was driven to Holy Cross Hospital and transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:14 a.m., according to police and the medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 12200 block of Greenwood Avenue in Blue Island.
