21-year-old Tremayne Henderson dies four hours after being shot on block where he lived in Fernwood

Tremayne Henderson was shot Saturday evening on the block where he lived in the Fernwood neighborhood on the Far South Side, and died about four hours later.

At 4:53 p.m., the 21-year-old was outside in the first block of West 104th Place when someone walked up and fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Henderson was shot in the chest and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 9:16 p.m., authorities said. He lived on the same block as the shooting.
