A person riding a bicycle and carrying a rifle fatally shot Lydell Wilson Thursday morning about a block from his home in the West Side North Lawndale neighborhood.
The 32-year-old Wilson, known as “BooBay,” was sitting in a van just after 10 a.m. in the 1300 block of South Troy when a bicyclist rode up, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The bike rider the pulled a rifle out of a backpack and opened fire, striking Wilson several times.
He was hit multiple times in the chest and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died at 10:29 a.m., authorities said.
