The third man wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee in November was arrested in downstate Danville over the weekend.

Kevin Edwards, 22, was stopped for a traffic violation Saturday night and arrested for resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer, according to the Vermilion County sheriff’s office.

He was being held at the jail in Danville on Monday morning and had been questioned by Chicago Police detectives, sheriff’s officers said.

Chicago Police are coordinating with the sheriff’s office to get Edwards back to Chicago to answer for his involvement in the murder of Tyshawn, department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said.

Man found shot to death in Washington Park identified as 47-year-old Michael Harmon

A 47-year-old man who was found shot to death Friday morning in the Washington Park neighborhood has been identified as Michael Harmon.

Officers responding to reports of shots fired in the 5400 block of South Indiana at 11:55 a.m. found armon unresponsive in a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Harmon, of the 1200 block of West 73rd Street, was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:18 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office. An autopsy found he died of multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide.

Witnesses told investigators they saw a man with dreadlocks running from the scene, police said.

17-year-old aspiring rapper Stacey Fluckes shot to death in North Lawndale

Seventeen-year-old Stacey Fluckes was shot to death Sunday night in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

Fluckes was an aspiring rapper who performed as LilMuney TheRapper.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired about 9 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Karlov, where they found the boy unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Fluckes was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:26 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 4100 block of West 16th Street.

Willie Jones found with fatal gunshot wounds in Austin

Willie Jones was fatally shot Sunday afternoon in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

Officers responding to a call of shots fired in the 0-100 block of North Lorel at 2:33 p.m. found the 35-year-old Willie Jones unresponsive in an alley, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He suffered gunshot wounds to the head and back, and was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:36 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 5500 block of West Jackson Boulevard.

Marco Mendez fatally shot while riding in vehicle in Little Village

Marco Mendez was fatally shot while riding in a vehicle on the block where he lived in Little Village early Sunday.

Just before 5 a.m., the 23-year-old was in a vehicle in the 2500 block of South Whipple when someone in a black SUV opened fire, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical examiner’s office.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the face, police said. The driver took him to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:35 a.m., authorities said. Mendez lived in the same block where the shooting happened.

16-year-old DeKayla Dansberry stabbed to death during fight in Parkway Gardens

Sixteen-year-old DeKayla Dansberry was fatally stabbed Saturday evening in the South Side Parkway Gardens neighborhood.

Dekayla was stabbed in the upper chest after a fight broke out about 7:30 p.m. in the 6500 block of South King Drive, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The girl was taken to Stroger Hospital, where she died at 8:24 p.m., authorities said. Her home address was unknown.

Dekayla was a freshman at Johnson College Prep.

Two people were taken into custody for questioning at the scene but were later released, police said. No charges were pending as of Sunday morning.

Kevin Milton dies after being shot while sitting in car in Austin

Kevin Milton was shot to death Saturday afternoon while inside a car in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The 32-year-old was in the driver’s seat of a car about 3:45 p.m. in the 800 block of North Waller when someone walked up and shot him in the chest, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He managed to take himself to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where he was pronounced dead at 4:14 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 800 block of North Parkside, less than a block from where the shooting happened.

20-year-old Albert Hurd shot to death just a block away from his home in Ausin

Albert Hurd died about two hours after being shot Saturday afternoon just a block from his home in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The 20-year-old was outside at 3:42 p.m. in the 5300 block of West Harrison when a dark-colored vehicle drove up and someone inside fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was shot in the chest, arm and abdomen; and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:25 p.m., authorities said.

Hurd lived just a block from the shooting scene in the 5200 block of West Congress.

$2.5 million bond for man charged with shooting Rashawn Gooden Jr. outside Austin convenience store

Bond was set at $2.5 million Friday for a man charged with shooting Rashawn Gooden Jr. to death in February outside a convenience store in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

Michael Dukes, 21, is charged with one count of first-degree murder for shooting the 22-year-old on the morning of Feb. 16, authorities said.

He was in a convenience store in the 4900 block of West Division about 9 a.m. that day when Gooden walked in and bought a drink, according to Cook County prosecutors. As Gooden was leaving the store, he said something to Dukes.

Dukes followed Gooden out and fired at him about six times while standing in the store’s doorway, prosecutors said. He then ran westbound on Division.

Gooden, who lived in the 4800 block of West Augusta, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:38 a.m., Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Investigators found six spent .45-caliber shell casings at the scene of the shooting, according to court documents.

The next day, a witness overheard Dukes admit he shot Gooden while talking on his cellphone. After the phone conversation, he tried to sell or trade a .45-caliber handgun to a witness.

Dukes, who lives in the 5000 block of West Crystal, is also charged with a misdemeanor count of marijuana possession between 2.5 and 10 grams.

Cook County Circuit Judge Maria Kuriakos Ciesil ordered him held on a $2.5 million bond Friday.

Man fatally shot in Auburn Gresham identified as 20-year-old Deangelo Diggines

A man shot to death in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side on Tuesday evening has been identified as Deangelo Diggines.

The 20-year-old was standing in the 7700 block of South Aberdeen about 5:49 p.m. when someone got out of an SUV and shot him in the back before driving off, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 6:25 p.m., the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy showed he died of a gunshot wound to the torso, and the death was ruled a homicide.

Diggines’ home address was unknown, according to the medical examiner’s office.
