A woman was fatally stabbed Monday morning in the South Side Avalon Park neighborhood during a domestic dispute. The stabbing occurred at 10:15 a.m. in the 1100 block of East 81st Street, police News Affairs Officer Daniel Sullivan said. A 67-year-old woman was found dead at the scene, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said. Area South detectives are investigating.

A man was shot and killed in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood Thursday night, authorities said.
The 29-year-old was shot in the head in the 6300 block of South Francisco Avenue about 10:30 p.m. He was dead at the scene, police said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the death. No one was in custody as Area South detectives investigated. Further information was not immediately available.

A teen boy was fatally shot in the South Side Auburn Gresham neighborhood Thursday afternoon.
The shooting happened about 12:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of West 85th Street, according to police.
The 15-year-old victim was shot multiple times and pronounced dead on the scene, police said. No one was in custody, though detectives were interviewing witnesses as of about 2:30 p.m.
An infant boy was fatally stabbed and his mother critically wounded at a North Side motel Thursday morning.
The child was found dead and the woman injured at a motel in the 5200 block of North Lincoln Avenue about 10:30 a.m., according to police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan.

Three people were killed and at least five others were wounded in South Side shootings Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Officers found the most recent gunshot victim dead in the 7500 block of South Carpenter Street after they responded to a call of a person shot about 6:45 p.m., police said. The man killed is thought to be in his 20s.

An autopsy Monday determined a person whose charred body was found in a dumpster Sunday night in the Northwest Side Avondale neighborhood was strangled.
The person, whose gender and age are unknown, was strangled and the death was ruled a homicide, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.Read more
