Chicago Police have released a surveillance photo of a man suspected of a shooting that left Marquese Fleming dead and another man wounded nine days ago in the Old Town neighborhood.

About 4 a.m. Sept. 18, the men, the 20year-old Fleming and a 30-year-old man were walking out of a fast food restaurant when someone opened fire in the 100 block of West Division, according to Chicago Police. The shooter then got into a Chevrolet Tahoe and drove away south on Clark Street.

Both men were shot in the back and were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.

Fleming was pronounced dead at the hospital at 4:55 a.m. that day, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 100 block of North Larrabee. The 30-year-old man was initially listed in serious condition.

The block where the shooting occurred was the target of a recent undercover drug investigation, according to Ald. Brian Hopkins (2nd). The undercover operation resulted in 16 arrests for drug and robbery offenses.

Fifty-four-year-old Peter Fabbri of west suburban Berwyn died about 24 hours after being shot in the head Saturday night near Millennium Park in the Loop; and on Monday, a man was charged with his murder.

Fabbri, 2100 block of South Oak Park Avenue in Berwyn, was pronounced dead at 5:53 p.m. Sunday at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He had been walking along Michigan with his girlfriend and sister following a wine-tasting event around 7:35 p.m. Saturday. He got into an argument with another man at the northeast corner of Michigan and Monroe, according to Chicago Police.

They eventually started fighting, and the other man pulled a gun and shot Fabbri in the head, police said.

The shooter took off on a bicycle, but was arrested nearby, according to police.

Early Monday afternoon, Paul Pagan, a gang member and twice-convicted gun offender, has been charged with murder, Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said.

Jewneus Clifford Wilson found shot to death early Saturday in East Garfield Park

Jewneus Clifford Wilson was found shot to death early Saturday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Wilson, 37, was found about 2:35 a.m. by officers responding a call of a person down in the 2600 block of West Wilcox Street, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Wilson, of the 7800 block of South Shore Drive, had been shot multiple times, and was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:57 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

Izael McKenzie killed, second man wounded when man walks up and opens fire in Englewood

Izael McKenzie was killed and another man was critically wounded in a shooting Friday night just two blocks away from the victim’s Englewood home.

McKenzie, 19; and 20-year-old were in the 5600 block of South Racine about 8:09 p.m. when another man walked up and shot them, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Both victims taken to Stroger Hospital, where McKenzie was pronounced dead with multiple gunshot wounds at 8:44 p.m., according to police and the medical examiner’s office. He lived about two blocks away in the 5600 block of South Throop.

The older man was listed in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the back, police said.

Nathan Watson shot to death while looking at a vehicle on the street in Englewood

Nathan V. Watson was shot to death Saturday evening while looking at a vehicle in the Englewood neighborhood.

Watson, 22, was standing outside looking at a vehicle in the 1500 block of West 56th Street about 7:25 p.m. when shots rang out, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Watson was struck several times, according to police.

Watson, of the 5700 block of South Ashland, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:17 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office. His death was ruled a homicide from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say Miguel Williams of the Far South Side and Donald Carter Brunson of the northwest suburbs were shooting at each other early Wednesday on the West Pullman neighborhood, and both men ended up dead.

Williams, 34, was sitting in a vehicle in the 12300 block of South Halsted at 12:41 a.m. when he got into a shootout with a the 28-year-old Brunson, who was standing in the street, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Williams was found with a gunshot wound to the chest in the 700 block of East 111th Street, and pronounced dead at the scene at 1:06 a.m., authorities said. He lived in the 7700 block of South Greenwood Avenue.

The younger man, Brunson, was shot multiple times, and was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:58 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 1200 block of Diane Lane in Elk Grove Village.

Both of their deaths were ruled homicides.

Lee Stemley dies in a hospital six days after being shot in the head on Englewood sidewalk

Six days after being shot in the head in Englewood, 26-year-old Lee Stemley died Thursday evening at a hospital.

Stemley was standing on the sidewalk with another man at 5:42 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, in the 5900 block of South Union, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The other man told police he heard gunshots and dropped to the ground. When he got back up, he saw Stemley had been shot.

Stemley, who lived in the 6300 block of South King Drive, was taken to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said. He was pronounced dead there at 6:18 p.m. Thursday.

No one was in custody as of early Monday as Area South detectives conduct a homicide investigation.

21-year-old Joaquin Gonzalez shot to death in Humboldt Park

Joaquin Gonzalez was gunned down in the Humboldt Park neighborhood Friday evening.

The 21-year-old was shot in the chest about 5:30 p.m. and pronounced dead at the scene in the 2600 block of West Haddon, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Gonzalez lived in the 7700 block of South Peoria. Police have not released the circumstances of the shooting, but an autopsy Saturday ruled his death a homicide.

The family has started a GoFundMe page to help pay funeral expenses.

A teenager charged with a fatal shooting of Tontriche Weathersby Jr. at a Gage Park neighborhood party last weekend was ordered held on a $1 million bond on his 18th birthday.

Guillermo Romero was ordered held Saturday for the Sept. 18 murder in the 5800 block of South Maplewood, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County sheriff’s office.

Shortly after midnight that morning, Romero got into an argument with the 20-year-old Weathersby and shot him in the chest, authorities allege.

Weathersby, who lived in south suburban Evergreen park, was taken to Holy Cross Hospital and pronounced dead at 12:20 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Romero, of the 3100 block of West Pope John Paul II Drive, is due in court again Monday.

In 2009, Marvin Keyes was acquitted of the murder of a postal worker, but on Thursday, the 33-year-old died, just about a month after he was shot in the West Town neighborhood.

About 9:30 p.m. Aug. 27, Keyes was walking out of a home in the 2000 block of West Maypole when a silver car pulled up to him and a gunman got. Keyes was shot in the head, legs and right arm, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The shooter got back in the car and took off. Keyes was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:07 p.m. Thursday, authorities said.

Keyes, who lived in the 3600 block of West Douglas, was acquitted in April 2009 of the December 2006 killing of 44-year-old Suzette Coleman. She was a postal worker who prosecutors said was caught in gang crossfire near her home in the 1300 block of South Millard, the Sun-Times previously reported.

No arrests have been made in Keyes’ shooting, police said Saturday. He was among 67 people shot across Chicago that weekend.
