Calvin was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head in her apartment in the 7500 block of South Luella at 12:06 p.m., according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Police had been called to the building Wednesday night after a neighbor reported hearing possible gunshots inside the apartment.

Calvin worked as a cashier at a neighborhood Burger King.

Her death was one of eight fatal shootings in the South Shore neighborhood in a period of about 24 hours from Wednesday night though Thursday night.

No arrests had been made in any of those cases as of Friday morning.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel had harsh words for the shooter or shooters.

“There is a level of evil and depravity about an individual [who] would shoot a pregnant woman,” the mayor said.

“Now, there are other people [who] I believe … opportunity and jobs will make a difference in their life. For the people that did what they did yesterday…there’s only one place for them,” the mayor stold reporters. “They do not belong in our society, they do not belong in our city and they do not belong on the streets. They belong behind bars.”

A survivor of a brutal Far South Side home invasion that left Elijah Jackson, his pregnant sister, Shacora Jackson; Shacora’s 19-year-old daughter, Nateyah Yafah Hines; and Scott Travis Thompson dead told investigators he listened to one of the victims beg for his life, prosecutors said Thursday.

Lionel Parks and a second man killed the four and wounded two others in a botched robbery of a drug dealer on Dec. 17, prosecutors said during a hearing Wednesday at Cook County Criminal Court. Parks was ordered held without bond on four counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.

Parks, 29, had visited Elijah Jackson’s home in the 100 block of West 105th Street twice on Dec. 17, chatting with Jackson and smoking marijuana with him, Assistant State’s Attorney Ed Murillo said.

When he returned a third time that day, Parks and an unnamed friend were armed with handguns and forced their way inside the house. The pair ordered the occupants to lay face down on the floor as they ransacked the house for guns and drugs.

He was struck in the neck and fell to the ground. The shooter then ran back down the alley.

A witness waiting outside a nearby bar for an Uber said he heard gunfire and saw a man on the ground. He said he ran to the man and tried to help him.
